DEFINITION OF A PARENT MENTOR

A Parent Mentor is. . . .

          the parent of a child with a disability

          employed by a local education agency

                   to help school districts and families

                             by providing training, support and information services.

 

 

HOW CAN A PARENT MENTOR HELP ME?

 

Parent Mentors are available to confidentially assist families with their concerns or questions regarding special education, including identification, testing, IEP development, 504 plans, and specific information about the district.
